A man who had been listed as dead returns from his prison in Russia and finds out that his fiancé has, in the meantime, married a singer. They are still in love, but nobly decide to part also because the husband has become blind after an accident. But, in the end, the singer finds out the truth from a shady blackmailer and dies as a result of this shock.
