In French occupied Westphalia, the governor Dulac plans a coup. Against him there is Anselm, some students, Susan – a former actress and now the owner of the premises in which the conspirators meet – and Ferdinand, an old actor friend of Susan. Dulac is stopped but Anselm is condemned to death. Susan helps to set him free.
