The owners of an Italian textile factory sell the majority of their shares to a French corporation. Apparently, no workers will be laid off, factory hands and office employees can breathe a sigh of relief. But there is a small clause in the agreement the new ownership wants the Factory Council – composed of eleven women – to sign. Locked in a room, the representatives will discuss and decide if to accept the shortening of their lunch break by seven minutes or not. Seven minutes don’t seem like much and, at the beginning, only Bianca, the Council Delegate, harbours any doubts. But gradually the debate becomes heated. One by one, each woman will need to reconsider her own life. And each one of them will vote.
